you can buy a replacement cluster, just plug yours in, get the number on it, write it in the owners manual or on the back of the title, and then install the new one, dont remove the needles just point them all straight up slide the overlay on, and then move them close to where they were before, start it and they auto calibrate. Then write that new mileage down in the book and write a cluster swap, this will let you calculate how many miles the diff is. So you take:
Origional Miles + Current Mileage Reading(whenever you are trying to find total miles) - What was on the new one when you installed = Total miles on the car

You don't have to do all that, on the 00+ the cluster is plug and play, and will show your correct mileage.

yes, the cluster is pretty much toast, on 01 and up. the milage is kept by the cars computer, so if you plug a new cluster in, it should read the correct milage, (this is from what the dealer told me when they replaced my cluster on warranty )

Or call Alex at blackcatcustom.com

Great guy to deal with and he always has them.

You're looking at 60 bucks, though.

so you guys are shure that the milage is stored in the computer and if i get a instrument clusted at a salvage yard it will be the same milage.....ive emailed procarparts like 10 times complaining. the instructions said to remove the needles on domestic vehicles. it kinda ticks me off.

I will guarentee it. The mileage is stored in the BCM. When you plug it in, at first it will show the old mileage and make a wierd buzzing noise. Then after a second or half, it will show the correct mileage and stop buzzing.
