I need to hook up a wire for my easystreet air pressure gauge lights.

Where do I spilt this wire on where I can turn my headlights on and light up the gauges at same time???

I gave up searching! @!#$ it!!!

I believe that it should be in your driver side fuse box. (Headlight fuse) or depending on the location of the gauge you might want to put it to tap it to the ignition fuse so that they come on as soon as the car is started.

yup go to the fuse box

dont go to your fuse box...never go to your fuse box

go to the wire on the headlight switch

How come its bad to wire it to the fuse? I'm just wondering.

ive got everything tied into there lol...and no problems/fires in the past 3 years so i think im safe lol

the reason why you dont go to your fuse box is simply because if something DOES go wrong... there will be far less damage than if you went to the wire coming out of the back of the headlight switch


ALSO....its a hell of alot easier to go to the back of the headlight switch than it is to go to the fuse box....

^^^ Are you serious? How is it easier to go through the firewall to the front of the engine where you would normally find the headlight wires then to just tap a fuse by the driver side door area?!!?!?!

The current draw from the air-ride gauge is so low that you don't have to worry about something going wrong. It's when people start tapping into the fuse box with equipment that draws more than 30+ amp is when problems could potentially come up.

You would be safe to tap the gauges to any fuse and if you want to be even safer then fuse the tap as well.

I think I misread that... never mind... but it is still not easier to go behind the switch as oppose to sliding the wire thru to the fuse box. IMO

I have tapped low voltage equipment to the fuse box (5yrs and running...) No problems what so ever.

just go through the steering column. im sure theres a wire in there for the lights you can tap into

id put it on the headlight switch
im not sure which color i could check it out tho..

Just wire it to the light in the ash tray it only comes on with your lights on

Yes, the headlight switch in steering column. Which color of the wire? Pahtcub said its Orange? Just double checking....

Brown Pin-A1 on Lt.blue plug at BCM for 2001 up is your park light wire...it only comes on when you turn on the park lights

Dk.blue Pin-B6 on Lt.blue plug at BCM for 2001 up is your head light wire and is a
NEGATIVE trigger. (low beams only)

Brown At light switch harness (at steering column) for 95- 99 is your park light wire


Dk.blue At light switch harness (at steering column) for 95-99 is the head light wire and is a POSITIVE trigger. (low beams only)

not sure what the high beam wire colours are.

If you wire it off the dimmer, you can dim the new gauges with your factory gauges. You can tap off the harness that goes between the dimmer and the gauge cluster. I can't remember, but I believe it's a brown wire.

just look in a haynes manual...it gives wiring diagrams in the back of the book

Quiklilcav is correct. The wire is brown with a white stripe at the dimmer switch.
This would dim the gauge with the rest of the dash.
