Finished my CF Switch Panel on P/S Door
Monday, July 25, 2005 10:22 AM
Finally got around to doing the Passenger Door this weekend. D/S is the same set-up. All of the switches on the D/S door are connected to actual accessories (neons, etc). The ones on this door only light up when the door handle glows are turned on from the other side, but I wanted to balance it out. Hopefully soon each of these switches will also be connected to something, but I'm running out of LED ideas...

Thanks for looking!

Steve

There are no acc. hooked to that door yet. I will probably hook up a few things later that are only turned on at shows or something. I just wanted to balance it.

Oh well - you can't please everyone I guess. It amazes me how someone can stick a gauge in the middle of a vent with no fiberglassing and everyone raves about it, but my custom switch panels get nothin' but hate. It's all good - we're all different in our tastes. Everyone who has seen my interior in person loves it. And these are people who would tell me if it looked like crap.

Thanks for your opinions! Sorry that this one is not a crowd pleaser...

You could make them "Passenger Friendly" switches. Perhaps drop a PS2 into your glove box with a mounted 10" flatscreen. You'd have switches to activate the PS2 and the screen. I'm sure you could find uses for the other switches...

(cannabalize an old cd-rom and make a drink holder, have an 8" cold cathode neon for a computer tower mounted behind the ps2, etc.)

Hey. Atleast you're trying. That's more than a lot of people around here.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?

Thanks guys - I wasn't trying to be a whiny bitch. Yeah, I was thinking of making switches just for the passenger to use. Just need time to figure things out.

Will a PS2 be able to withstand 100+ degree temps, though?

Cool - I will probably be asking you guys soon for details on how to wire that. I guess I'll need a LCD monitor and some kind of system to make 12v into household current...

Don't know how the game systems are handling that kind of abuse, but if you say so, I'm in.

1. Turns on screen
2. Turns on cupholder let for illuminated water bottles (thanks scion)
3. Flips down passenger visor if you could motorize that
4. takes picture if u put a camera in the visor like pimp my ride did
5. seat warmer
6. seat massager
7. map light

theres lots of things you could do, but i would make those buttons for only passenger friendly uses. Otherwise its silly.

I like it alot, plan and sinple, looks real good, although I don't like the mesh in the door

You'd like the mesh if you could see it in person. It matches the mesh in my grill and vents and it all ties together very nicely.

DS - did you ever get that CF emblem on your car?

I think it looks cool... Plain and simple. If I were you, I would re-wrap the arm rests on your door panels in Black Vinyl or Leather... that would look sweet.
