duramix 40/40 &40/58..with door panels...

From what I have read the 40/40 is for welding and the 40/58 is more like bondo. What I want to know is I have completely stripped my door panels, even the soft material that is on the top half of the door panel. There are slightly large gaps on the door panel where the pieces come together.

What I was gonna do is use this duramix to fill in the gaps and make everything level before I glassed the entire door panel so that there is no room for air bubbles. I am glassing it because I am changing it. Will this stuff be the best thing to use to fill these gaps or is there something better that is cheaper and will hold up? I say cheaper because I am pretty sure I read that the gun for this is $70 and its $20 for each tube. I just wanna make sure I use the right stuff to fill in the gaps. Thanx.

also last time I glassed my doors I just filled the gaps in with resin. Would this work as good as the duramix or plastiweld?

for 90$ to do it that way, i'd just lay up fiberglass if your going to fiberglass over it anyway.

ya thats what I figured... I did it that way last time and now that I have stripped the door completely again I can tell you that resin sticks hard in those cracks..it was hella hard to get out.

i don't see a need to weld that together...just glass over it. it won't matter.
