Thinking of swapping to Cobalt interior
Saturday, July 30, 2005 6:22 PM
I don't know about you guys but I like the interior of the Cobalt alot better than the stock
base cav interior. So I was thinking of maybe ripping my entire interior out and replacing
it with a cobalt SS supercharged red and black interior. Just wondering what you guys
think of this idea and if it would even work as far as the dimensions and all that jazzy
stuff. The dash and seats are the two main things i am looking for but if any other part of the interior could be replaced to get it looking like the Cobalt all the better.
Thanks in advance for the replys you guys are awesome.

An interesting idea and i agree it looks better but i'm not
sure it would fly. If you look at the wheel base and length
dimensions of the cobalt they are slightly smaller than
the cavaliers. It would be interesting to find out if it would
work or not though so good luck and lets us know
what you find out.

I haven't looked much at the cobalt ss interior much, but if there is a will there is always a way.

Thanks for the words of encouragement you guys but i am still looking for dimensions and all that good stuff so i can decide if this is even feasible. I went to the dealership in town here and they didn't have any cobalt ss supercharged there so i couldn't get them for myself.
again thanks for the replys.

the only think that will fit with out modification will be the front seats. everthing else will have to be cut, chopped, and hacked to fit in to the cavalier. good luck though i hope to see it done!!

I realize that I have a big job in front of me if i do decide to go this route but if somebody could get me the dimensions of the dash its self so i could figure out if I could manage to modify it to fit or if its a lost cause.
right now my plan is if the measurments are close to what the cav dash is (within a few inches) then i can make it fit but for now im jsut waiting on anybody to get me those measurements.

its a lost cause your much better off having your current interior wrapped in vinyl in red/black or just custom make something....

LOL, I have seen 2 totaled Cobalt SS. One was at the dealership, the car was 5 days old and the kid rolled it 4 times down an off ramp. And the other was in the Police impound, high speed chase ended with a street light pole... ouch!

And I would bet money there is at least one a weekend around me (Chicagoland area) that gets wrecked.

But, my bet is you won't see them hitting the bone-yards for a few years.
