I was gona try a search but I have no idea what that black stuf that keeps the plastic on the door is called.
The reason I want to remove it all right now is cause my door panels have been off for so long that it has run and made a mess all over the doors. I want to take it all off and clean the plastic right up and redo it. Is there an easy way to get this stuff off? I was gonna use a scraper for most of it but I want to clean it off completely so is there a chemical that will help it come off?
Try using a scraper to get the majority off then use claybar or something similar to get the remainder off...
get some on your finger and then put it on top of the rest of it. Pull back and it should come off. You just do that all the way around. If it is really really bad then get some tape and pull it off with the tape. Then some wax and grease remover will take the residue right off.
bug an tar remover will also take it out , daves method will get messy quick an turn your fingers black lol... but it should peel off and only leave a lil residue...
and Pauls method is the reason the sticky stuff is in your door right now LOL.

so the degreaser is what's gonna get it off once I scrap the majority of it off?
I used Goo Gone, bout 1/4 of a bottle did both my front doors... all i needed was a rag to wipe it clean

i found if ya take tape and it grabs it right off, then with laquer thinner cleans right up
so i mean go to a auto body supply store and buy tape 2 inch tape
