the slider piece that hides the sunroof , you pop the sunroof open and there is 4 clips you need to release to pop it out

dont open the sunroof just vent it and you can see the clips

blasted!!!! didnt work. i dont see any clips. oh well, i have the headliner reupholstered and back in. the light gray sunroof cover doesnt look too bad with the black headliner, but would look better black.

The fastest way I found to take the sunroof slider out is to just remove the sunroof glass entirely.

1.) Make sure the sunroof is closed all the way.
2.) Remove each of the four screws that hold the glass in place. There is one screw in each corner.
3.) Carefully push up on the glass. Take the glass out and set it somewhere where it won't get broken (obviously).
4.) Now you will have a clear view of the four little clips you will need to push back in order to get the slider out.
5.) Finally, just pull the slider out through the top of the car.
6.) Re-installation is the reverse of removal.

If you need any more help, please feel free to email me: j_to_envy@yahoo.com.

Unless you have something else in mind for the headliner, you won't need to remove it just to remove the sunroof slider .

Do you have a stock power sunroof installed? Like 97Cavie said but they are not clips. There are 4 spring loaded pins that hold the cover in the track. Just vent the sunroof and slid the cover all the way forward. You should see 2 black pins with springs on each side. Just use a screwdriver and push the pins into the cover on at a time. You can then push up on the cover after each pin and pull the cover thru the vented sunroof above the car.

I had to remove my a couple days ago because something was stuck in the roof and wouldn't allow the cover to open all the way.
