I'm thinking about trying to wrap the center console in some kind of fabric. It doesn't look to bad except the cup holders look like it will be tough. So has anybody had any luck with this? It's currently painted but it's hard to keep it from chipping.
I wouldn't even do the cup holders. Put a cup full of Ice and coke in the it will sweat and get the carpet all wet and mildew might set in.
I dont think you would be physically able to wrap the cupholders in fabric without it looking like crap.
Heres a pic of mine- the middle section is painted with kylon fusion- the lid and base of the console is wrapped with black tweed.

I wrapped the bottom half in Black tweed along with the armrest and power window swithches. It would be pretty hard to do the top, ubless you were good at sewing and could stich all the seams together.
Ben (CavFire.com (tabasco) has wraped one in carbon fiber before.
i wanted to do this but was not really sure how to. do you need to glue it to the parts like replacing the headliner? and if so what type of glue should b used?

I wrapped the bottom of mine a few months ago with grey marine vinyl. It came out great, but during this hot and humid summer, it bubbles as the glue melted. So i cleaned it up and painted it instead.
Here is the old pics. Sorry for the size if they come out big. Im still getting the hang of the resizing program i downloaded a few hours ago.
