Guys im new here. Name is Stephen own a 01 Sunfire with 2200. I have a facination with being the eye catcher and i want to move the steering wheel and pedals to the other side of the car. I have removed the dash completly once now to plan this project carefully and at first I was hoping i would be able to just extend the steering column and add another universal joint but the a/c squirel box i right in the center and comes out really far. My friend mentioned using a chain all the way across the back with gears on both ends not a bad idea and i think this will be my choice. I will not have to relocate the brake boost but run a bar across the firewall to depress the brake. Plan to chop up that dash and try to use it for a pattern to make a new one that is simular with a 10" screen in the middle. As far a legalities go I live in Texas and need to find out if this would cause problems. I just think a turbo'd jbody is just the the thing to make those sport car wanna be's piss in their pants. let alone when you pull up right next to them on the right side of the car.
You could pick up a toyota cavalier, and swap everything into your car.....

i think that would be smarter and easier
If I saw a Sunfire pull up to me with left-hand drive, I'd piss my pants, lol
start Pissing!!!! ... lol..... his car is a LEFT hand drive!!!!! He wants to make it a right hand drive like the toy. cav.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you tried!
I have never heard of a toyota cavalier until now hook me up with some photo's
I am looking online to try and find the dash for that toyota cavalier. If any one in the UK or overseas somewhere could help me locate the parts I would appreciate it.
How is a Sunfire left hand drive...? You shift with your right... Doesn't it go by that? Or is it by whatever hand holds the wheel?
Some of us are already doing or have done the swap...
#1. There is no 'simple' way to get this done. If you try home-made fixes for problems without the proper tools and support that a custom fab shop would have... DO NOT TRY THIS MOD.
#2. Make sure that if you do not work on your car full time, you have a LOT of time to set aside the car during the change. Unless you mofidy cars for a living and can work on yours almost 24/7, expect a LOT of down time... Of the people who have done it and have talked about how long they took, I am paced to be the fastest done and I am now pushing a year of work on it (maong other projects).
#3. Be sure that you have someone who has experience with custom cars in your corner. Don't expect to come on here and get a lot of tricks and tips. Few know what goes into this conversion and fewer have attempted / done it.
If you get into actually doing this project, I will help here and there, but there won't be any 'How Tos' posted anytime soon

its all custom....find a shop
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

its much easier if you buy the front clip. front clip can be bought from street-line.
its alot of work and a shop is gonna charge you out the ass. im assuming w/ material and labor cost, your looking around 5k
Save your self the troubel, sell your car and buy this one for 20K, It'll cost you about the same.
RH Drive Cavi
