5" tach a sin?
Wednesday, August 24, 2005 5:18 AM
My friend from back home decided to send me a tach that he used on his VR4, he parted it out and he sent me the 5" tach

I don't know what to do with it. I'd prolly enjoy the shift light. I'm sure I could deal with the word "rice" being thrown in my direction a few times. I don't mind how it looks. Then again I can't sell it... I mean it's a gift..

I guess what I'm asking is what are your guys' opinions on these tachs. I've seen it work fairly well on some cars and look like hell on others.

i used to think theyre rice, till i drove a car with one, and saw how nice it is to have a big tach right in front of your face when racing, i say put it in and screw anyone who calls it rice

well I know that I'll have to get an aftermarket tach (trying to find the one I want smaller then 5") b/c our factory tach cant keep real accurate rpm when spraying plus having a lightened fly wheel and a stage 2 so my answer would be NO unless your car is real stock or no performance, basically though its whatever floates your boat

I like the idea of a smaller one.

I suppose I'll give it a try. I'll have to find myself a tach adapter.. I think.

I've got one sitting in the middle of my dash as well. 5 inch AutoMeter w/shiftlight. I love it to be honest and really don't care what everyone says. When I drag race it's in the PERFECT spot to see. Yeah, I could have tried to hide it some but why? It's there for a reason.

I got mine in the center vents of the car. I have a slim design though it works great and i wound trade it for anything in the world. If people talk crap let them.
