My brother is a professional painter and is going to paint my wings west front bumper for $50 and I asked him if he would sand, prime, and paint some interior pieces and he said that he would. Now my question is would that turn out nice and smooth with a fiberglass look to it and would it be durable? If anyone has pics of a professional paint job on the interior they would be very much appricated if shared as well.
Thanks for any help in advance,
-paul
yes it would you would just have to use adhesion promotor and flex additive and you will be good to go
yes it will work fine. If you sand the stock interior plastic parts smooth, they will have the same look as if it was fiberglassed.
how would the paint hold up on these.. would it scratch easily ect? this may be something im def. interested in as glassing is far too much work
^ yup if prepped right, it will hold up just as the exterior holds up.
thats pretty damn cool could i rip the vinyl off my doors ect and paint it or is it even a smooth surface after that? thanx
all automotive finish system`s have a product line made for interior plastic
but it`s factory colors, but you can have the out side color made into a interior color and it can be made in different degree`s of gloss
but if ya want it to shine like the out side, here is what i would do
take a grey scuff pad and scuff the panel
clean with a wax and grease remover (dx 330)
apply a adheshion promoter let it dry 30 min`s before applying the base coat (ppg`s rule for the adheshion promotor)
base coat
clear coat
no need for a flex agent at all, it won`t hurt but no need for it
that`s what i would do
but if ya want to go the other route and use a product made specicly for interior plastic do the step`s above minus the adheshion promotor
can i haz bondo
