I was just wondering if anyone have ever shaved their glove box, I did a part of it, such as removing the lock cause I never used it and I have nothing so precious to put in that I need to "protect".... I was thinking of maybe shaving it completely and put a solenoid with a button to open it. Anyone?
Here's what I did to it for the moment, I had to take it out again cause someone made a scratch on it when he or she got in the car... it doesnt look clean, but it's the pic:
Thanks
I forgot, what stuff do you use to fill holes on plastic cause the "plastic cement" that I used suck I had to sand it again so we didn't see where the hole was... Thanks
superglue actually works well, but get cynoacrylic(sp?), it can be sanded when almost dry.
what is that made of?, vilyl, painted or stock?

it's painted, I sanded it a little, but when it will be complete it will be completely smooth...
why wouldn't you be able to use sandable primer to fix the scratch? is it too deep, not deep ebough, whats the stroy?

the stuff that I used to fill the hole is total bs, you can actually see where the lock is. I filled it maybe a month ago, it's not normal that it keep doing this. I can't repaint just that part, it will be too visible. By shaving it completely I could use vynil or something to cover it. If I can't get the idea of the solenoid working, I'll just stick with what I have now but I have to get something better to fill the hole.
i'd say just fiberglassing it, then you can even hide a solenoid in there.
for painting, why would it not be possible, you think the paint colors would be too far off? or expense?
if its expense, see if there are any Bike build shops, around, they might be able to lay samoe paint, since they always work with small pieces.......

thanks I'll check for that. I try to stay away from fiberglass, never did some and don't even know what I need to buy
....
grind it down with 60 grit, try using some bondo glass.... im trying it with good results...

please tell me thats sarcasm i hear.......
i just looked at the mechanism, and there seems to be an individula spring for the latch, and there would be a spot to place the rod, on the latch... the handle will not have to be there at all, and if you place the actuator sideways, it shoulkd fit inside the fuse holder ompartmnet as long as you cut out some of the braces from inside there....
THIS is VERY posible, and you could use the lightest actuator available......
