i have been replacing my seats in the z and took quite a few pics of everything i did and thought doing a how to write up for using the stock sliders and brackets, and or a little steel. however i do not want to waste my time doing it if no one is interested at all. so if anyone is interested please say so or if not just say, @!#$ off ToBoGgAn.
everything i have done has not altered the ability to re-use the stock seats in the car, if that makes a difference.
im interested....i want to replace me seats with aftermarket ones and have no idea what i have to do. idk if i get the sliders and brackets if i can just bolt them right on or what.

good idea, but with racing seats on stock sliders/brackets, arent they gonna be a bit high? i fab'd my own brackets that are lower than the stocks by a bit, and they are still too high.
but do it anyways, im sure it will help some people either way

1. Take the a seat & bracket out of your car.
2. Adjust your slider all the way forward and mark where your seat comes to. You'll need to know this so you can get the mounting of the new seat correct as non stock seats have different positions for the mounting holes.
3.Unmount the bracket from the seat.
4. On one side there will be a rail, on the other side there will be 2 oval metal risers. Use a Dremmel tool or other grinder to grind of the risers at their 3 spot weld points or hammer them off (it's really easy and won't destroy them).
5. Go to Home Depot (or equivalent store) and get yourself a flat thick (you don't want it to break!) metal strip and some nuts and bolts. I think an inch and a half in width is what I used (3 inch wide flat steel works too). You'll cut 2 pieces to mount in-between your seat and your bracket. These will be as long as your seat is wide. One for the front holes one for the back holes. (the Tenzo R's mounting holes are wider than the stock holes and thus will be outside of your stock bracket's rails by about an inch or so. Thus the need for this "adaptor")
6. Measure and mark on your metal adaptor strips where they will mount to the Tenzo R's. also measure and mark where they will bolt on to your stock bracket. Mark the bracket too. (remember step 2? here's where you need it)
7. Drill holes in everything!
8. Bolt your newly made adaptor metal strips to the bracket first, then bolt the strips to your seat.
9. Follow steps 1 through 8 for the other seat.
10. Mount in your J-Body and go for a ride!

yes the seats sit very high with just being mounted to stock sliders, for me at least, so i went further. what the other guys did is similar to what i did, i just took more pictures and did it slightly differently. i will do this up and if people want it it will be there. just give me a few days.
Yes the seats sit up WAY to high. I did that write up long time ago, probably year and a half or more easily. Though I love how my Wedge Engineering brackets and Tenzo R sliders sit. I <3 my new seats!
I basically took 2 sections of what I'm pretty sure was some sort of a slider housing for a cabinet drawer from home depot and some flat Iron and did it this way, mine had sliders so I just had to mount em on the floor, i tried to Draw a color coded schematic that i think is tard proof but if you have any questions post up and I'll answer them
BTW: This Is how you would mount the seat on the front 2 studs, the rear will be up in a few secs..
Now given these wont be mounted exactly ON TOP of the stud.. they will most likely be mounted a little farther above/below the floor stud depending on how far you want your seat to recline.

OK I finished it, however I have no way to host it and it is huge (45Mb) so unless someone wants to take a look at it and host it for everyone the only way to get it out will be either to ZIP it and e-mail it or transfer via yahoo messenger. any other ideas I am open for.
