Im just wondering how to mount my 4 point harness. Ive seen alot of people with them and they don't have a roll cage so how do i mount them?. is it safe with out the cage? i don't want to risk my g/f's life its not going to be safe. and i really don't want to put in a cage but if it wont be safe ill just leave the stock belts.
thanks
Cheap installs arent good and good installs arent cheap
I was wondering the same thing cause i always heard that you had to mount them at a certain angle so you couldnt take them straight down to the floor

I just thought I would chime in here....
4 point harnesses aren't safe for several reasons. Unless you have a rollbar (or cage), when the car rolls over, you aren't able to "slip" out from under the shoulder belts, and wind up getting your head crushed. They also lack a "sub strap". If you slam on the brakes real fast, you are just about guaranteed to slide out from under the belt strap (since again, your body can't move as it would with a single shoulder strap) and cause all sorts of internal damage.
The reason sanctioning bodies have outlawed 4 point belts is because of the two reasons above. There are even some bodies that won't let you use a 5 point harness without a rollbar. 4 point belts are pretty much for show. I would never even consider using a 4 point belt, ever. Use either a 5 or 6 point one. You can very easily bolt a 6 point in without cutting a hole in your seat.
With all that said, there are all sorts of rules about how to mount them. Some say they need to be mounted at a certain angle versus the seat back, where other say they need to be mounted above a certain point below the shoulders. Some even get into measurements from the mounting point to the seat bolts, etc.
thanks guys i think im just gonna return the 4 points and stick to the stock belts i know the chances of gettin in a wreck is slim but not worth the chance
