I need some tips for mounting...
Thursday, October 27, 2005 8:48 AM
Ok where do you think the best play to mount a shot gun would be? I was thinking either on the back of the back seat (it has to be in the trunk or its considered illegal) or on the roof of the trunk. Its too long to go in the spare tire wheel well and I dont want it on the trunk lid because I want it hidden the best it can be.

You want to mount a gun in your trunk? It's not for show I assume. What's wrong with leaving it in a gun case?

Maybe he likes to go hunting like alot of other people and has nothing else to drive. so this is his only vehicle to use and thats the only way to get around. dont flame the man for askin a simple question. you might want to try to make something up under the rear deck where the rear speakers are to hang it from. that would be the only idea I could come up with.

I was thinking of hanging my Mossberg 88 in the rear window to discourage people from messing with me in traffic, but decided it may be a little rednecky.

Nothing wrong with keeping some heat in the trunk, just build something custom and it will be nice.

No I dont go hunting. Like I always have said "be prepared for the worse, and hope for the best." Im not 21 yet so I cant get my conceal and carry license to keep a piece or 3 on my peron at all times, so shotgun in the trunk will have to do, along with my 2 knifes I carry and my bat in the backseat. I dont want to put it in a gun case for several reasons. Firstly I want easy acess, and also I dont want it to slide around my trunk into my sub or tool box, or air tank.

Rear window is a good place to mount it for discouragement, but I find my bumper sticker does the job just fine " I carry a gun, dont piss me off " and under that it says " (This sticker was custom made, I really do carry a gun) " just so they know Im real.

Rednecky would be perfect for where I live, I live in the country surrounded by hicks and rednecks so all is good.

A custom mount under the speakers would be about the only thing I could think of atm, or mount the gun case to the trunk lid and I doubt anyone would recognize it as a gun case... but idk if it would fit there. Ill get back at you guys layter with pics and stuff for when its mounted.

Wow... So it is too big for the spare tire well, but short enough to fit across the back of the back seat. Hmm…Can you be a little more vague? Do you know how many different shotguns are on the market and much they vary in length? How much room is in your trunk?

what are you expecting to happen?????

if anything does happen the other redneck standing across from you or in the car behind you already has their gun out, and they are not gonna let you pop your trunk and get yours out

pretty contradictory...hidden well with easy access...I still think the first place I suggested would serve that purpose...

Hi kids, do you like 5 inch exhaust tips?,
Wanna see me stick chrome fender flares over each one of my Konigs? Wanna
follow me and do exactly as I did? Try NAWS and get your motor F***** up
worse then my life is? My brain's dead weight, I'm trying to get my head
straight, but I an't figure out which sticker to put over my license plate.
And the mechanic says "Rice Burner you's a crack head "Nu-uh" "Then why's
your car dead man its wasted " Well since age 9 I've wanted an SI so I could
put chrome 18's on it and make it run 16.9's. Got pissed off and ripped all
my honda emblems off, And replaced them with "R" badges so people know Im
not soft. I smoke a big bowl of chron, and lay in my lawn, for longer then
it took me to put my altezzas on. "Come here bastard" "Dude , wait a minute
thats a Viper dawg!!" I don't give a F***, i'll just fly by and put my
hazards on!

You have the same rims I do.

Gotta love the J-Body forums. Ask a question, get maybe 3 actual responses if your lucky, and the rest are flames becasue you do something differently.

Yes I carry 3 knifes on me, one in my left pocket and one in my right, both are pocket knifes. One is on my back, its a fixed bladed knife with a 6 inch blade. The gun rack will just have to basically be able to hold a baseball bat, or a stick like object because i have multiple guns and like to switch things up. Baseball bat is in the back seat. Everything will stay in my car after I turn 21, and I will get a conceal and carry license and carry 3 guns on me.

Im crazy? I must be a lunatic because I own a gun! Im psycho!!!!!! ohh no. Better hide your kids from the crazy gun owning person. What a bunch of dumb-asses.

why do you need three guns, three knives, and a baseball bat in your car, give me a logical answer and I'll accept it, give me some retarded answer like 'its my right to carry arms' or 'it makes me feel safe' then I dunno man...

Ohh your canadian, that explains a lot. Silly canuck.

When Im 21 I will have a few hand guns.

And my reason is because I want to. Not because I need to, or because I dont feel safe. Im 6'7 280 lbs and I box, I feel safe even when I have nothing with me. Only a few things scare me, 110, flamingo's, and french people are the top 3.

I leave you all with a piece of info. Whateva, I do waht I want.

Wow. You are the definition of OVERKILL.

But anyways, you want a real answer? Fine.

Hiding a shotgun in your trunk is do-able I suppose. You could possibly craft something up out of wood/fiberglass to hide it in. I would actually mount it on the inside of your trunk lid, on the top, if space permits.

However, I seriously doubt someone is gonna wait for you to "Pop tha truuunk" before they pelt your sorry a**. And, although I don't know much about your area, how often do you have gang related deaths? How about drive by's? Any shootings this week? No? Didn't think so. A baseball bat is PLENTY of protection.

People like you who go around toting 9 different weapons for 'self defense' are often the instigators of road rage incidents rather than the 'defenders'.
