LEDs

I am making some led lights, and i need 150 ohm resistor. I already have some 100ohm resistors laying around. My question is can i put 2 resisoters and will that work as a 200 ohm resistor? Any help would be appreciated!

oh and in case you need to know it is just 2 leds in series.

if you add resistors in series then the resistance is additive in the
circuit

I know, what i need to know is if i add 2 100ohm resistors will it act as a 200 ohm resistor

He answered your question. 2 100ohm resistors in series will act as a 200ohm resistor.

LSDiodes.com

Resistors for real cheap, or hit up your local radio shack.

I thought 2 resistors of the same value halved the overall value? EX - 100 Ohm + 100 Ohm = 50 Ohm. I know that's what Skyler from LSDiodes.com told me sometime last year. And yeah, buy from them, they're really good to deal with and have very fast shipping.

Resistors in parallel reduce the equivalent resistance, resistors in series increase the overall resistance.

Series: Req = R1 + R2 + R3 ...

Parallel: 1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ...

I'm an aviation electronics technician for the US Navy so
i wlll tell you that what i said is completly correct. and the
equation you see in the prior post proves the same thing.
If you would like i can generate the entire proof that
what we are saying is fact however i suggest you just
take our word for it.

Resistors are additive in series.
In parrallel another equation is necessary
as shown and that may be where you are getting confused
