I have a '96 z24 and in the center consule there is a little red light just below the power windows. I am sure this is one of the biggest j-body newb question but I just got the car a couple of weeks ago. anybody tell me what this is.
that light is probably something the previous owner put in, maybe from an alarm or something else. There isn't a power window switch that came with a little red light on, did the car have an alarm when you bought it? It could also be an indicator if the car had some sort of accessory, say an amp being on. I wouldn't be too concerned...
Alarm I wouldn't think to put down there... you want thieves to see the blinking light. Probably an indicator light for an amp. It's not stock though. Follow the wire, and find out where it goes.
I have a little red light that blinks from under my power window switch...
You can see it through the hole for the center console latch..
I installed my radar sensor down there for my car alarm.
