How do i get the smooth fiberglass look on my dash by painting it. Is their a primer that can be sprayed on it to smooth it out.

well, the dash is vinyl, so it would be tough. some people say they've been able to just primer and paint it with good results, but i would personally just glass the top. vinyl and paint dont mix too well. you could always get vinyl dye and dye the top, but you wont get that glass look

Peal off all the vynal then it will extra good to start prep and paint

anyone have picture of the dash painted without the vinyl???
i would like to see how big are the gaps....

i fibreglassed my dash after removing the vinyl. i molded the top vent on with body filler and when it dried i used a razor knife to cut the body filler so its not permenently on and it works good.

Spray on vinyl dye...costs like $6 at Pep Boys...

i used dye, and gently sprayed some black mettalic over it when it was tacky...all worked out good.

Thats not fading...just an un-even coat...it was 80 degrees outside, making it around 100 inside my car, and i needed the car back together the next day (pulled the dash part way out to dye it...)
