B&M Shift + Info Please
Saturday, November 05, 2005 10:10 PM
I have heard a lot of good things on the org here about this little device. I have also read about people having their transmissions going bad because they leave the switch in position 1 all the time. Can any or all of you folks that have the Shift + give me the proper info on this? I'd love to know so I can decide whether I want to get one. Thanks for any info you can give me.

where did you read this? If anything they help your trans last longer by driving in 1 all the time, less slip = less heat build up = less wear and tear.

As far as I know, if you don't have a 4speed auto trans, you can't use one in a cav.

Grimor I do have a 4 speed automatic in my 98 Z. I wish I could remember where I read that from. It's late and I'm at work trying to stay awake and watch over the satellites I monitor. If I remember where I saw that, I'll post it.

Any info you want can be found on Summit's site, or Car Customs and others. What do you want to know? I have one, I like it for the strip.

Sam, do you keep it on the number 1 position while just doing normal day to day driving or do you shut it off? I'm just wondering the long term affects of leaving the thing in the #1 position. Thanks for any advise you can give me.

I love mine. Check out the transmition forum for more info. Here's a link to one of the threads. There's alot of good reviews on the kit... plus a install walkthrough in the forum.
