I am thinking of fiberglassing my sunvisors, but i'm not sure how to go about it. Do i need to add fabric on top of the factory material or is it fine as it is? Also do i need to make a passageway for the wires of my monitor to pass through? my original visors went together like a sandwich, trapping the monitor and wires inside of it. How do i go about this? Search came up with nothing, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
The wires are however you want. For the cleanest look, you'll want to somehow hide the wires as much as possible. You don't really need to use any F/G mat since the visors are cloth. Just put the resin right onto the cloth and let it cure. You may wish to use F/G mat in the cracks/sides so that it's smooth.
^^^agreed. maybe a layer or possibly 2 around the outer edges(the seams) but thats at most. you could probably get away with just building the resin there, and the filler would cover any little seams.

Thanks, i just wondered how to do the wires, if i needed to leave the wires in while i glassed the visor. I just didn't think that leaving the wires in would be a good idea.
id say lay the glass, then drill for the wires, and use filler after drilling

Or lay some kinda big tubing in there. Maybe something like heat-shrink, tho the F/G gets just a bit warm and could cause the tubing to shrink a smidge... Better yet, lay the tubing inside the visor where there's more space?? Just throwin' out a coupla ideas...
go to the hardware store they have clear tubing in various lengths. get as small a tubing as u can youlle most liklely need to cut a small channel to run the tubing in so it doesnt bow out. i'd suggest laying two layers of fiberglass once you soak the cloth in fabric, if not there is a chance that it could crack on you. i had this issue when dealing with the headliner.
