I noticed for the first time yesterday that the map lights in my rear-view do not work.. Actually that is not totally true. They work, just as far as I know nowhere near where they should be.
My Map lights are located on my rear-view. Now there are 2 switches that are meant to turn each of the lights on (left or right). Mine however are wired wrong. When I turn switch #1 on they both turn on, but now here is the kicker... so does my dome light!! and when I turn on switch #2 they all turn off. The vice versa is true as well. If Switch #2 is on then #1 will turn them off if it is switched to the on position.
Has anyone else ran into this? and if so what did you have to do to resolve it? Would GM still fix this even though it is OOW? Possible recall issue? Anyway your input/assistance would be appreciated.

Sounds like someone screwed with your wiring? Used car?
Yeah used... Never noticed until I went to use it recently. I'm going to talk to the local pontiac dealership and see what they can do, if anything, for me.
