1. What exactly does the ground do in a three lead switch?
2. You still have to ground the item recieving the power right?
3. In the cigarette lighter, is the black wire a ground?
4. Could I run a 3 lead switch just off of my accessory cigarette outlet in the center consol?
Just a few ?'s I have.
1) should ground for your *assuming* LED switch to turn on and wont work correctly w/out it
2)yes
3)yes

Can i run interior neons off of the cigarette lighter or even exterior neons???
you could with the interior, but i really wouldn't suggest exterior.....

I would suggest neither. Cig lighters are known for blowing out easily in many cars do to load. If you plan on running a lot of lights, well I added another fuse one for interior neons one for exterior neons. Thats where I tap into.
Just wanted to share. I hooked up my interior neons to the lights in the back (I have a vert, and there are 2 square lights). I spliced into those, so when I hit my clicker button, or open the door, they come on. Also, the dimmer switch when pushed all the way up activate them as well. Just an idea I wanted to share.

Ban low-performance cars, not high-performance ones.
I did pretty much what that guy did ^^^
I have 4 12" cathodes in my car wired with a constant hot (+), and the neg tapped into the domelight. All the cathodes turn on when the doors open, and slow fade off.
nice...but i get annoyed by that crap..
i like having the ability to turn them on/off at any point
