'97 to '00 Guage conversion

Before you say search, I did. I checked guage swap, guage conversion, '95 - '00 guage swap, nothing came up. I didn't find what I'm looking for. What I would like to know is what does it take to switch the 95-99 tach cluster to a '00-05 cluster. I know the guages are oriented differently, but other than that what is different in the wiring? Has anyone actually done it? I'd like to have someone who has actually made it work comment on this.

Not gonna happen. 00 and above have the milage stored in the BCM and probably the cluster. 95-97 are mechanical devices some 98-99 are digital, but some may be mechanical. Also, the sunfire and cavalier are different in 95-99. Now you might be able to do this if you rewire the entire ecu of the car and the what not, but for that im not sure

you would pretty much have to swap the whole car electrical harness , computer , bcm , dash , fuel tank , air bags and sdm

im sure the list is bigger than i mentioned

the 2000+ cluster should work minus the odometer. Might need the 2000+ connector though because I'm not sure if they use the same plug or not.
