i didnt sand, but u gotta use a mild soap and water combo, to clean the surface, then i used adhesive promoter(a few coats), the did nice light coats of Krylon Fusion(keep it light to avoid runs), and then after its dry apply thin coats of clear coat...thats what i did and it turned of pretty good, still gotta be careful, and make sure its 100% dry before you put it back in or it can smudge and prepare for a paint smell in ur car for a bit...thats what i did, you can check out my car domain page in my registry for picks...have fun!
as for sanding i think you start with a high grit and work your way down or it could be vice versa...
^^^start with a low grit(harsher) and work your way up to a high grit(very smooth)\
ex - 80 grit is rough as hell, 2000 grit is smooth as a baby's bottom

thanks i couldnt remember which way it went
I tried painting the interior of my 180sx and I did mine with primer, wet sand, then several thin coats of color, then sevral thin coats of clear, then a wet sand, then polish, just like on the body. It looked really nice, but remember the adhesion promotor. I forgot the first time and it all started to chip off and it scratched really easy.
Someone should really just make a how to for painting/fiberglassing your interior.

Interior FAQ
Yea, I know there is a prt of the FAQ about it, but as far as painting interior it doesnt go into much detail. The first site for fiberglassing is great, with step by step instructions with pictures. I was saying that someone should do that with interior painting. Maybe I will make one up since I'm planning on painting my interior over winter break.
