For the love of god, I'm starting to hate the interior of my car . . .
I just got a replacement boot for my e-brake. It took me damn near 15/20 minutes to remove the stock one, and now for the life of me, I can't put on the new one. I got it off of APlus. I can't see how it would work... As soon as the e-brake goes down, the boot pops right up from where it is. Is there something I'm missing, or am I just a putz?!
I tried searching for it and of course, nothing came up in search feature. Anyone got any steps on how to change an e-brake boot for an 05 Cavalier?
It should just go back on the way the stock one came off. I got one for my 02 cavalier and it fit like a glove.
How so? From what I see, the boot only attaches to the center console via two small spots. Is that all it needs? Any tips on how to make it fit snug?
there was a redesign on those boots to make them easier to put together, so it may not be working(only about 3 where made using the new way)
get ahold of A+ and we get you a new sent out
Hmmmm, well, The only different with the new boot and the old one is that the old boot has a metal wire sewed into it to get it fit better. Other then that, the spot where the material clips on under the console is the same. I actually reordered another boot cause I want a different color.
Does the top part of the center console come off? I've been trying to get to the spots where the clips are via the e-brake boot gap, and the small holding spot (on the LS its where the power window switches are). Is there an easier way that I don't see?
Where are the screws at? I only see the one screw that is basically directly under the HVAC panel under a little tab, and then there are two bolts inside the arm rest. But undoing all of these removes the entire center console? Where are the screws that remove just the top part of the console?!
o_O I have to remove the whole console to put on the ebrake boot?! *falls over*
Eh, its not that hard, just a pain in the ass worming the console out of the car, lol.
