cavalier guages arent designed to be removed, you broke the gauge. Best thing to do is search ebay for a new one.

not true. the 00+ gauges are like that, the 95-99 gagues you can remove the needle and not break the cluster. so if your car is an 00 or up, you need a new cluster

ok i think i made a mistake in explaining my problem. however the answer still may be the same.
I removed a white faced overlay off of the regular factory gauges and to get that off i had to remove the needles. so now i can't get the needle on the fuel gauge to work. does that mean i still have to get whole new cluster and where can i get this at.

ok well one answer would be fill out your profile so we can help you. like i said if your car is a 95-99 then no, you dont need a cluster because you can remove those needles. if your car is an 00 and up then yes you need a new cluster because taking the needles off those clusters will ruin it.

You have an 02, you busted the cluster, 00+ the needles aren't supposed to be removed.

not 100% correct. If you know what your doing you can do it w/o hurting it. I have many times. Once you break it your screwed though.

yeah i removed all my needles and my speedomoter, tach and temp gauge all work. the only gauge that doesn't work is the fuel gauge. is there any way to get the fuel gauge to work. if you don't know where the gauge was when you took it off?

well if it doesnt work at all that means you probably broke the connection meaning you need a new cluster. if its just not accurate, well go to the gas station, fill it up and then put the needle up at full. it wont be accurate but it will be pretty close

if you can get your hands on a Tec 2 Scan tool..... you *might* be able to fix it.......

but its a *might*...... does your gauge move at all now? If not, then find a new cluster.
