Ok, just bought my Fidanza short shifter today, and got it in.
Question is of those who have the Fidanza shifter, has anyone else had one with a VERY stiff reverse lockout? I mean it almost takes two hands to lift the lockout. Other than that, it feels good, and works right.
Now I just need to find a nice knob for it, cuz that chrome knob looks like shiza....
mine reverse lock thing was not hard at all on mine dk what may be wrong with urs though
You can possibly try finding a smaller spring or use the spring from the stock shifter, That's what I did, made it easy as pie.
does the fidanza shifter destroy the stock shiftboot like the B&M does?

Dunno, the stock shift boots are terrible. the vinyl cracked on mine within 5 months.... Maybe the heat here was too much. So I have a different one now. It seems ok right now.
As far as the spring, doesn't matter if the spring is in or not, it's still really tight. It's like there's a rubber o ring jammed in there or something, but it is loosening up.

yeah, my B&M has already put 3 good holes in my stock boot
Yeah my B&M has two good holes in it from rubbing against the driver side going from first to second.
What cons does the fidanza have over the B/M ?? it is a hell of alot cheaper.... something must be up.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Having compared both, they seem nearly the same.
Retail on the fidanza is $189 canadian. and i think the b&m is like 240.
As of tonight, the lockout is working ok..... We'll see by tomorrow.
