I used to have a white overlay for my gauges but every time it was cold(all winter) the speedometer would stick. so i removed the overlay however i pulled off the needles and apparently i can't remove them w/o ruining them. SO what i want to know is can i fix/ replace, the cluster and keep the miles correct/legal in case i sell the car???????

I believe the miles are stored in the computer so when you swap out a new cluster it should read the same. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Just go to the local junk yard and pull a cluster from a 2k+ cavi. The miles are stored in the BCM and won't be a problem to get to display on the new to you cluster. Just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. You are set. The whole swap should take you about 1/2 hour if you have never done it before.

FYI...I bought a cluster at my local yard for $18.

ok so why do people on ebay put how many miles are on the cluster if the miles aren't stored in the cluster?
