I have a 98 cavy 2 door. Wondering if anyone has tried to swap out the seats with something like a grand am, lumina, monte carlo, ect. Stock seats suck and I'm looking for comfort more so than style. That's why I'm not really looking at racing seats. I know mustang seats fit into a ranger pretty easily, just didn't know if cavy's had the same swap capabilities.

People on here have put rsx seats, evo seats, celica seats... in to j's, And F body seats bolt right in to our cars. The other seat i don't know. Pretty much all you will have to do is measure to see if they will fit in the car, and be able to close the door, seat height, and fab up some brakets and you are golden..... comfort costs time and money.

grand prix seats wont fit, my buddy tried it in his 96 fire and they are too wide. id assume that they are to wide for the cavaliers too.

i have a 96 cavie coupe/ 2 door, anyways i was facing the same situation, but i wanted electric plus heated seats.. what i did is wait around on ebay for a whole set . front and rear seats from a infinity j30 i think its j30 - black leather, both fronts are heated .. 8 way power with power lumbar. well the frotns you have no issue, they fit right in, just make your own bolt down brackets. the rear its pretty simple, theres a trick to the sides, since my car is a coupe n the seats came from a 4 door.. alot said it can't be done, but with a little common sense, they fit in w/o an issue.
i got my whole set up 77 bucks plus 45 shipping w/o a cut, they weren't worn out, practically nearly new. so its up to you if you can have an anvle and some vice grips and some metal.. you can bend and drill your holes where you make some templates where the brackets should go, then your set. no need for sliders, cause they are on the seat, no need to worry about if the leather is thin cause this is the thicker leather.
i have no issues, nor compliants its the best thing i'd ever done on any vehicle that i'd customized.
