ok here it is pls dont kill me, i want to put buckets in the back of my 97 2 door now i am not going to be using stock buckets prob after market race buckets, but i was wondering if any one couls give me a hand with some more info, i know i should drop the tank then just fab up some brackets but i want to make it easy enough to remove easily and put it back, i was thinking of making a hinge for the front and some sort of clip for the back so the seats can flip forward then unbolt, what you all think, if any ones has pcs of there install then pls let me know
thanks
When messing around with seat mounting, i hate to hear hinges or clips.
Think about it, if you are traveling at 30 MPH and someone swerves into your lane, BAM!!!...
Head-on impact your clips snap like balsa wood, and your hinges direct your rear seats into the back of your head, along with the possible passengers in them.
Sorry to sound like a buzz-kill, create kustom brackets and bolt them puppies through the floor with giant washers on both sides(make sure not to leave the bolt too long underneath the car, I did this, unpleasant ride over train tracks for a friend of mine.).
hah thank no prob that make sence anyone got pic of the brakets they made ???
It's not entirely true about the hinge and clip thing. Suzuki Sidekicks and Jeep Wranglers have that on their rear seats. But the best thing to do is mount (weld) brackets and just bolt them in.
