Rattle in my door panel
Sunday, February 05, 2006 8:47 PM
So this is my first post on j-body. My brother Jason (jcavi) has told me on many occasions that this forum has been a valuable source of information for him. I have been helping him when i can to help him install his megasquirt. In dooing this i have decided that i would like to work on my car as well so i figure ill fix whats broken first.

when i turn my volume up on my stereo (stock) my passenger side door panel rattles. It really sucks. Does anyone else have this problem? Am i going to have to dynamat my door? Any help would be great.

could be the speaker or just about anything inside the door

on my 97 it was the bracket that was for the door pull , its rivited to the door frame , and the rivits were loose

only way to really figure it out is to pull the panel off and serch for loose parts

yeah im sure you already know but there are only like 7 screws holding the panel on. then you just pull out then up. just take the panel off....get a flash light and check around man...thats you best bet. i think its pretty easy to get to the bottem with the speaker out.

check a couple of things, like if all the crews are in place, see if the riveted metal piece is on tights, and then chack your speaker, see if it's hitting something....

the bracket that the door panel screws into that is riveted to the door was loose on mine, as well as the linkages that go from the lock and door handle to the latch. The wires for the power mirrors and doorlocks also rattled against the metal. There is not much else to rattle besides those things
