Gas Struts For Trunk (yes i searched)

ok. so the other day i was reading a post about using gas struts on the trunk lid to rid the torsion bars, anyways. i searched and couldnt find it, so another anyways, i got some gas struts for free, might be a little highly rated but im not sure, so are there any pics of this being don. i dont know how it would work or where the hing points should be at least. so anyone got any ideas??

This wont be of much help since I dont have my cd with the pictures with me,but convertibles have gas struts in their trunks. So maybe you could check through peoples profiles and try to find a pic of a convertibles trunk. I can get the pic for you tomorrow,but that wouldnt be until later that night.

Removing Trunk Tensionors, and Replaceing w/ Strut

We have even talked about using convertible J hinges.. thats what im planning on doing.. just gotta find a junked vert.. cuz at the dea;er the Hinges run 150-175 each and the struts run 80 bucks each..

meant to add there are pics of the vert hinges in that post.. But if u have just the struts.. u can mount them any way you want.

im using the hood shocks off of a w-body much easier then replacing the entire hinges. When i get it done ill post up some pics.

yeah i figured out a way. the bad thing is my struts are about 2 and a half feet long when extended and are harder than hell to close. but weel see what happens. ill get em installed tomorrow
