I've got an 03 Cav and I'd like to replace the interior lights (dome light and map lights on the mirror) with red bulbs. I bought a set of red 194's since they're the same voltage and plug size as the 912 in the dome light.. but I have NO idea what bulb number is in the map lights or how to get them out for that matter. I've taken the panel off, but couldn't get my fingers in well enough to remove the bulb.. there some trick to it?
Also, the 194 doesn't seem to be very bright, but that may be because I don't have the reflective cover over it (kinda can't since my headliner is out of the car right now). Is the 912 brighter or will the 194 get "brighter" once I get the cover back in place?

I decided to take off the mirror today while I was waiting for the dye to set on my headliner and was able to pop them out and lo and behold, they're 194's as well. I went ahead and put the two I bought before in the mirror, and I'll still need to get another bulb for the dome light. Gah.. between this, dying the headliner black and a couple other interior plans I have.. I can't wait until this is done.

It'll look cool when its done. I have all my lights replaced with blue LED's. Specially if you have the better desgiedn ones that put out more light or have the "multiple" light angle going on. Looks kickass
Can you get LED's taht will plug directly into the bulb socket in the dome light, or do they all have to be wired in?

yep i went with that site also great to deal with and its a 912 replacement LED bulb for the map light direct plug in no issues all mine are red to in the map lights and dome lights looks great at night

My dome, trunk and HVAC LED's have all been bought off of sites. They work kickass too.
OK i did this like 2 hours ago, easy to do, i did green just some cheapies from walmart and you can drive around with them on but if you need to read something dont go this route.
Can you use these bulbs in the instrument cluster? Maybe a noob question, but it seems we're on this subject anyway. Black Cat Custom has some nice faces, but seems a little rich for my blood.
