i didnt sand it either btw. so if i can just remove the primer paint and clear coat it will be back to stock ....

You'll have to replace it. There is no way you'll get the paint off enough to look decent. If you use a type of paint stripper, it will damage the plastic. When i used paint removed on my HVAC knobs of all pieces, it was starting to make them haze and slightly eat through them. Paint stripper doesn't like plastic :-(
how easy is it to find a air bag cover though?

I think it'd be pretty simple to find one at a junkyard? I'm assuming its your passenger side one . . . I don't know if it breaks or anything once the bag gets deployed, so it may be harder to find? Maybe someone around here will have a spare one
yes its passenger side. i didnt know if theres a way to repair ones thats been deployed or not.

just wondering what it would take to sand off all the paint primer and clear coat and smooth it out and redo it. im thinking of going all black... tired of the silver look already....

Wouldn't be too hard, or take too long since it's a small area. Use something like a 60 grit and work your way up.
The 60 grit should get it down a great amount and it would sand off the texture on the cover. Then work your way up to 80, 120, 220. Thats how I did most of my interior pieces and it worked. Primer, sand with 300+, primer, sand, paint, etc. Should come out looking awesome.
could i paint the dash pad too. i mean it i removed the vinyll from it ?
JBO'S Mr. 64.....
Yea, you'd paint it the same way as the other interior pieces. Like you said though, you just have to remove all the vinyl off of it. Remove the vinyl, sand like the other pieces, paint, clear, etc.
I think you'd have to fiberglass the dash, you can't just remove the vinyl and foam and paint it. I glassed over my vinyl and it's looking mint.
^IVE NEVER USED FIBERGLASS BEFORE ID BE HALF SCARED TOO TRY IT
