I am repainting my interior. I sanded down the texture, primed, sanded, painted, color sanded, then applied rubbing compound and shine restorer. At this point, the pieces were smooth as hell and very glossy. Now I applied 2 light coats of clear, and it does not seem to be as glossy as it was without the clear. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm Using Dupli-Color spraypaint and clear.

apply 2more coats of clear, then sand with like a 2000 grit and polish the clear with a finishing polish, remember, its just like paint thats what i did and i can see my reflection. hope that helps and the second problem is your using dupli color
many changes in the making
my favorite part about doing bodywork,.......... bondo bugers
don't apply rubbing compound before clearing it. Just wet sand with 1,500 2,000grit ...what color were you sanding? did it have mets in the paint? sanding mets sometimes dulls the finshed look ya gotta know what your doing. adding anything inbetween coats will also work in reverse of the finshed look your going for. Rule of thumb. 3 coats. Then wet sand. good luck

The color is black. I added rubbing compound and finish restorer, then washed and cleaned with rubbing alcohol. I will add another 2 coats, then wetsand with 2000 and buff with finish restorer and let you know how it comes out.

Aight, got it to come out looking great. Here is what I did.
Seems like I was afraid to go through the clearcoat, since looking around alot of people warned about this happening, so I was sanding like a wuss. Well, I sanded with 1500, then wetsanded with 1500, and wetsanded with 2000. I then buffed with 3M Rubbing Compound, and then buffed with 3M Finish Restorer. It is now amazingly smooth and glossy again. Thanks to all who helped.
