Air Ride Setup...
Sunday, April 02, 2006 7:57 AM
I was wondering if anyone could construct a Air Ride trunk setup platform for
me and I will pay them for whatever it costs and all the work into it. I'm not good at
construction whatsoever. Anyone out there, please help me! Contact me at Bomex03Cavalier@hotmail.com

are you looking for something like this false floor? if so, i could have that done in a night. also, if you did want something like this, let me know soon, cuz i can just trace the panels i have currently made. but id need to know soon before i go any further.

So are you cutting part of the floor in the trunk? and then setting the box in there?

kind of. that box will recess into the spare wheel well, and look like the tank is partially under that floor

Ah ok, do you know if anyone has cut away part of the floor and then remade the actual floor and welded it back in?

Cut it out, and lower it so you can fit the whole tank in and still have normal trunk space.

^^^ohhhh. i got you now. i think the gas tank comes pretty close to that area underneath, but that is a good thought. i may have to look at it tonight.

i know other cars, like the Scion XB, most of the guys on air fit their tanks up under the car somehow. ill bet it could be done on a J pretty easily. i may look into this

good idea!!

or you can do what esb did and mouth all your stuff to the top instead of the floor

^^^do you mean the rear deck( where the 6x9's sit)?? i thought about doing this, but then decided against it.

mounting the air tank there may still be an option though

go to your local welding metal shop and they should be able to drop the floor of your trunk without much problems.
