Hey guys, Ive got a 99, how do you take off the headrests on the front seats, cause all i see is 2 metal rods that go right into the fabric, and how do you get that seatbelt holder off also???

Lol to both above. To get mine off, I had to do the following:

1) Pull the headrest up as high as possible.

2) With a screw driver, peel back the upholstery until you can see the white plastic that the metal poles go into.

3) There is a metal pin/clip that runs around and through the plastic holders. It holds the headrest in place as well as allows it to adjust to the grooves in the metal bars.

4) I just jimmied the screwdriver around until the pin/clip popped out, and then the headrest/seatbelt guard pops out.

5) To get the seatbelt guard off, you have to pull the two metal grommets or whatever they are called off of the metal pole. I pried them off of the headrest w/ the screwdriver, and then just pulled them to the bottom where you might have to bend them a bit to get them off the last metal groove in the bar.

6) Pull the belt guard off.

7) If you were careful enough, you can put the grommets back on over the bar and grooves the same way they came off.

8) Now the pins are a PITA. Majorly. If you do not get them to insert back in both openings of the plastic holders the way they started, the headrest will not have anything to hold it in place nor will it slide in the grooves like before.

9) I'd suggest contacting GM dealership for any tips or help on this. I just jerry rigged a zip tie setup around the grooves of the bars and under the upholstery. It is completely hidden from sight, and it holds just a tight as before, except now you cannot adjust the height.

If anyone else has tips on how to get the pins back into the plastic holder, please let me know. Hope I was some help. There are a few picture walk throughs on this site if I remember right.
