ok i just recently bought a beater so now ill have more time for my car... anyway i was wondering what all was involved in swapping out the dash of a cavi for that of a fire...
i know ill need the entire dash, and door panels... but my questions come with the cluster, meaning i have a 99 i cant directly get the cluster to swap with another one correct? or is there a way to get my cluster to work with the dash... i dont think so
any help is appreciated...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think your cav cluster will work with the sunfire dash.
i thought a cav cluster wouldn't work with a sunfire. reason being the odometer (being stored in the dash) am i wrong with that? did i misread the info in the other posts? i was going to do it too and just try to mold the section of my cav odometer in with the sunfire cluster so my readings will remain the same.
so i guess no one here has done a dash swap on a 98-99

The cluster will work, there the same shape. You cant jst swap the cluster over on pre 2000 cars because the mileage is stored on the cluster it self. On 200 plus you can because the mileage is stored in the BCM. Make sure you get the metal support frame to
that's good to know the cav cluster will fit. i thought about doing it but didn't want the mileage all screwed up. is the metal frame just bolted on? what about the hoses that go to the vents? are they flexible enough to move around so they'll fit the sunfire vents? seeing how they aren't side by side like the cav's. at least i don't think they are.
The metal frame bolts to the car with four nuts. You'll need the hoses from the sunfire to
just got the center console. of course i forgot the freaking bracket!! i was gonna get it all, dash, door panels, etc. etc....but there were only passenger door panels. might go back and get the dash anyways and just store it until i can get panels. think i may go ahead and put the console in, just let it rest there until i can get the bracket to bolt it on.
also, all the ones i checked seem really loose, not as sturdy as my cav's. is that typical for sunfires?
