spray on sound deadener

i dont know if you guys have seen it or not but autozone is selling this "sound deadener in a can" type of stuff..now,i know this cant possibly be as good as things like dynomat or the like, ...but..does it work at all?? i ask because im sanding down my interior pieces right now and i dont want the added weight or dynomat so i thought that this spray stuff might give me alittle bit quieter cabin but without the extra weight....any thoughts?

ive heard if any use this it's in the corners or other hard to reach/cover pieces. besides that would be alot of cans to by to do the car with. the deadner mats work best.

i used it on metal and it worked pretty good for the price. I think wal mart is a little cheaper though.

i use this stuff on the inside of all my sub enclosures. works great. takes a while to cure, but turns like a rubbery coating.

im also adding it to the backside of all my panels, and certain sections of the underbody

i used it in the back of my CRX, when i had it, but the stuff never fully cured, and it was stilll sticky in spots, especially when the sun got to it.......... i eneded up recovering everything with the mat

i dont think youlle get the noticable diffrence that your wanting, to get that your going to need to add allot giving u the same weight mat would. i use the spray in areas that the mat is just to hard to get to. one thing i'd suggest is trying undercoating on all your wheel wells. about a can per wheel well. this will help absorb some of that road noise.

the point is to get rid of the noise, if the noise now doesnt bother you then save your cash.

on the outside of the car i use the rubber black undercoating/sound deadoner u find at autozone etc. for inside the car i pretty much strictly use cascade v-block but only in areas that its just to hard to get to with mat. unless your buying the stuff in a 5 gallon bucket i feel your better off with sheet type sound damping.

i bought it in a spray can, there arnt to many areas i cant get to so i dont need a ton. for the gallon type you can either paint it on or use a hvlp gun to spray it in.

i have just used rubberized undercoating for all the eareas i couldnt get to.very cheap..dries good and doesnt smell...also if you have a water problem it coats the panels well..i sprayed it where the back set is..on the inside of the quarters thorugh those holes..phil'
