Well, I'm getting ready to sell my car, so I've been converting back to OEM-specs. I took my shift knob off and put the stock one back on, and now the yellow button inside the shift shaft is sticking down when you push it. You have to pull it back up to be able to remove the key.
So, I want to know how much of a pain in the ass it is to change the shaft. What all parts would I need from a junkyard car to do it?
Thanks for any help
spray some kinda lube in the button on the shift knob , and down the shifter
a silicone spray lube , or something similar
i'm switching back to stock pieces, mine's not sticking but i put a different handle on than the one that came with it. my problem is the clip isn't holding it on. even with the clip in i can still pull it off. i'm thinking the location of the clip may not be the same as the original and it's not catching.
btw, the original was the little short one that covers the top part of the stick, the one i put on is the longer slender one that covers the majority of the stick. don't know if you can figure out which ones i'm talking about with that or not.
