I have a spray gun and a compressor but no garage. Has anyone ever painted there interior outside? Does everything flying around in the air mess up the paint or would this be ok to do?
You can paint outside, you just need to make sure that you pick a good day and area to do it. You will want a calm day with no wind. You will also want an area that dirt/dust ect isn;t around, since you don't want it in your paint. What I do whe I paint outside is to plastic off a section of our porch and spray the pieces on there, then move them to another place to dry. So you should be fine if as long as you do that.
Wide Body Progress
As long as you wet sand between coats you should be alright painting outside.
OK so I am just gonna paint in my shed now got it cleared out a bit and have some room.
I went to the paint shop today and told him I was looking for dupli color high build primer in a spray gun. They didn't have it and as soon as I told him it was for my interior he said no that won't work.
He gave me a quart of this SEM 3913 I think it was. It's a primer with a flex agent and an adhesive promotor. That was fine but when he showed me the book with all the colors I didn't really find what i was looking for. I want black with blue flakes. He showed me a bunch of black metallics but I dunno how that will look with a black and carbon fiber interior.
Also the paint was a base and clear. I want to have more clear added to that so they should have just a clear that I can put over that base/clear right?
Does anyone have pics of black and carbon fiber interiors with flakes or something besides just plain black? Or should I just go with the black and leave it at that?
when im painting allot of pieces i just make my own spray booth. i go get some plastic at the hardware store and wood u can make like a 5'x10'x6' booth in about an hour and for about 10$ then i just stick a box fan on high on one end and cut and opening for a cheap hvac type filter on the other end. works good. not as good as a paint booth but much better then being out in the open.,
