I bought some grey vinyl to recover the top carpet peice on my 00 sunfire door panels. Yesterday I took off my door panels and took a look at how to remove the top carpeted peice. I cant figure it out. I can see that you have to remove the window trim which will remove the top portion of the carpet but how do you remove the rest of this peice like on the lower portion by the arm rest that flows to the back of the door?
There is a big chunk of styrofoam behind the carpet peice but didnt want to break it off since it's like glued on there and looks like it will break into a million little styrofoam peices.
Anyone have any pictures or help to figure this out without breaking things? Also if anyone has any pictures of there recovered door panels that would be great.

Under that styrofoam is some tabs that hold the piece on. You'll have to remove the styrofoam to get to them.
bugger i figured that. But the trick is removing the styrofoam without breaking it into a million peices I guess. Then the only other part is takeing off the window trim peice correct? Also another question is how can I take out those heavy like c-clips things that hold the window trim onto the door panel without screwing them up? I mean I know I could get them out but how can i be sure to get them back in properly and tight again once there removed? plyers to squeeze them back tight? Buy new ones and bend them back?
I'll give the styrofoam removal a try and hopefully I can get this done.

take the styrofoam out, shouldnt break up to much they dont use a ton of glue to hold them on. as for the staples just use a screwdriver to straighten the legs then pull them out. then use some pliars to get them straight again and reuse them just sticking them back thru then using the screwdriver to bend the legs enough to get the pliars over them to push the legs down. its a pain so just take your time and dont get frustrated. ive redone my door panel pieces twice so far and am still using the same staples.
