I have tried to remove the dome light cover, with no luck of course. Is there a way to remove it without removing the entire headliner without breaking it?

yup, it's easy.
The cover is triangle shaped (more or less). What you want to do is push the "bottom" end (the flat end facing the rear window) towards the "point" of the triangle (facing the windsheild). As you push forward, pull down a bit and it should come out. There are two small tabs on that end. The "point" has a larger tab that won't "bend" like the back tabs, so make sure you pull the back end out first and then pivot it down and out of the front.

Thanks for the info........just broken mine about 10 days ago.
Those little side tabs...wouldnt let go....one of em broke.
But it still stays in place up there!

i kinda tugged on the corner of the "triangle" and it popped off

if i hit a big bump or something with my stiff spring my cover just popps off there, i superglued it on the last time
