I was going to mount the sender to the firewall, but not sure whats behind it before I start drilling holes. I thought about T'ing it off with the stock, but decicded to place in the upper driver side port back port.
So I have 2 questions:
1. Is there anything behind the firewall about the same level height as the port and about even with the port itself, or move it left or right a bit?
2. Is there a better place to mount it? (Keeping in mind of the currernt Port I am using and a 4 foot remote line)
Just screw it into the port in the head. That's where mine is and where many others have put them.

Whats the chance of it braking off if mounting it there from the vibration?
I remember seeing pics of the 2.4 that broke off from vibrations and the weight of sender.
I had mine in there for 25000 before I had to take it out because of the head swap gone bad.
