I completley stripped the part of my dash that is like leather or whatever... that cant be painted over... and am gonna rewrap it... any suggestions on what kind of glue and what kind of material to use???
Thanks
what are you wrapping it with? leather, vynal, suede, tweed etc.. That would be the deciding factor for how your going to have to go about it. Tweed will strech a lot more then say suede and what not so you would go about it a whole different way.

Thats what I was asking.... I need opinions on whats easier to use to wrap it with?? You say tweed?? Whar glue would you use for that then?? And what is the actual stuff used to begin with?? leather?
We tend to use contact cement for everything at school. Works well, then we hot glue it down on the back. But yes, it depends on what fabric you are using.

ive wrapped alot of things with alot of different techniques, and contact cement by far is my personal choice.

I'm doing Sueded Microfiber. It looks and feels like real suede except it costs way less. A friend used it in his car and he put it right over the factory adding. It turned out really nice and all he used was contact cement.
^^^did he have any problems with the cement staining thru the material?? that was the one thing that always scared me with thinner materials like that, so i always stuck to a lil bit heavier stull like tweed, vinyl, etc.
if you could, let me know, and what color was it??

He did say it took a bit of trial and error. He used a spray glue that his wife uses. She's a seamstress and has all that stuff jsut laying around. He sued that for the top and the back was done with contact cement to get the strong hold. The material was pretty thick, but I can't remember where he got it or if he even said. But it turned out pretty nice. The color was black. Nothing fancy. I'll ask him next time I see him.
