Hi, I removed my entire dash, top and bottom so I can paint them and I was ready to paint the bottom part and the cigarette lighter is there. I disconnected it from the harness but i can't pop it out of the dash so i can paint the thing. I cant tape it iether, already tried. Help please... thanks
Well from what I saw on mine there is two little push in tabs on the side holding it in? at least on the 03 sunfire its that way on both the botton console and the one in the dash.
on mine i unscrewed the little bolt from the inside of the lighter its tiny.
Theres clips, look closely you can see them.
Do you have a wine bottle cork handy? Just put it in the socket with NO POWER. And just paint over. When your done, just pull the cork out. Simple, yes?
there are tabs on the side but they are kinda hard to get out. but take it out cause the paint will look better in the end with it out
