ok, what do i need to change completely if i want to drop in a 00+ gauge cluster in to my 96?

do i need to change the complete interior wiring? (or can i wire up the pig-tail to my factory harness?)

any and all info WILL help! but FLAMAGES do NOT help!

you need to change out ALOT!

off the top of my head...

- dash assembly
- Most of the wiring in the car
- ECM
- BCM
- Speedo

Basically, to much to be praticable for most people

well i gots a 2000 cav parts car, so i may or may not swap everything out! [and i dont think the whole dash needs to be changed out either]

actually yeah it does. the 00+ gauge cluster is a different shape, a different size, and does not mount the same way that the 99 - cluster does.

Yep, all the wiring in the car, right down to the gas tank. And the evap can moved from the front to the rear in 99, so you'd have to move yours or modify the wiring and such to work right. The dash definitely, because the cluster as stated is a different shape and size. You'll have to get a 2200 PCM to run the motor... I hope all the sensors are the same. Engine bay harness, light harness (you'll have to re-wire it to work right), dash harness, body harness... the cluster in a 96 runs a bunch of stuff in the car... DRLs, PASSLOCK, etc... the BCM does that in 2000+ cars, so you need that too.

If you want the ABS to work, you'll have to swap the ABS unit... between 99 and 00 they changed... and you'd have to re-bend the brake lines for that to work. If you want the airbags to work, you'll have to swap in new airbags from the 00... but judging from the pic in your registry, they're already blown. You'll need at least a module from a 2000-02 car (around $100 on Ebay). And if you want the heater to work in the new dash, you'll have to modify the mounting bolts.... they don't line up between 99 and 00...

A lot of work and money wasted for a gauge cluster....
