Sorry this is a double post but i reallly really need to find out how to do this asap... i have like 2 days to work on this before the 26th for a show...PLZ HELP
Ok so im sanding my valve cover... and ive searched and noticed that some people say to use 80 at the start but i have a lot of power tools sittingaround (we bought out a lowes.... after hurricane katrina) but neways whats the best way or best tools to use? THnx
What are you trying to accomplish? Polish or to paint it?
paint it... i no i need hi temp paint then im gonna gloss it/clear coat but help! plz...
You can use a power sander, but hnad seems to work better. Sart off with 80 and go up to 400 or so. Clean the valve cover real good with water and soap, and let dry, then paint.
Thnx so much everyoen for your input... just curious tho about my head gasket.. a buddy said that if i take the valve cover off i will need to replace the head gasket probly since the car has 91,000 miles on it.... IS THIS TRUE?

no its not you may need to replace the valve cover gasket if you mess it up
Theres a big difference in the valve cover gasket and the head gasket. I'd go ahead and replace the valve cover gasket anyways (they dont cost too much).
You said that the head gasket and valve cover gasket are two different things..... ( i know that) but then you said i should replace the valve gasket cover also.. does that mean to also replace teh gasket cover?>
replace the valve cover gasket.....not the head gasket
You'll have to excuse my quick typing...i typed valve gasket cover instead of valve cover gasket. Thats what I was saying to replace.
