custom gauge cluster

im looking into doing a custom gauge cluster with all individual gauges. with this in mind, i still want to keep my odometer, and the safety lights(ex - CEL, battery, oil, etc). question is how would I go about doing this? Ive had some thoughts about it, but not sure what kind of wiring would be involved to accomplish this. it could easily be done without these features, but i would personally like to keep the.....if not in the cluster, somewhere, for my own piece of mind.
has anyone done anything like this? i know a few who've done custom gauges, but not keeping all the stock dummy lights and odometer......

any help or info is much appreciated

i would re route the cel and lights to ur new dash and jsut mount the cluster under the dash somewhere, then just tap for all new gauges

Doesn't the ECU trip the warning lights? If so, just leave that portion of the harness connected, then figure out how to mount them. Possibly mount them in another part of the dash? Then mount and wire your gauges and you're golden.

I'm working on the same thing right now - The soldering iron is HOT!. I haven't figured any other way than to mount the cluster circuit board under the dash and wire the LED's to a new cluster, leaving all the idiot lights and turn signals but room for the new gauges.

Good Luck!

If you go with Cyberdyne Digital gauges (like I'm going) they have adjustable warning indicators in each gauge. Then you can tap the factory wiring and use a l.e.d. for CEL , Turn Signals , High Beams...
