Mechanically Id say its your cat going bad, thats the only way to know is when it produces a rotten eggs type smell, and you fail your smog check. Other then that, have fun searching for panties.
Coolant can get that rotten fish smell when it's gone bad. Might be a leak in your heater core?
Check your coolant. When was the last time you flushed it?
your momma hasnt drove your car any has she?
Have you recently applied any vinyl/rubber dressing such as Armorall to the interior? I have noticed some products tend to produce a fishy "after" smell, especially after the vehicle is left out in the sunlight for awhile.
Are there foot prints on the windshield? sorry with that post name ya know where its going to go! could be a bad cat, moldy carpets crap under the backseats? plastic got on the exhaust mold in the vents or someone poured something in or over your car
you can take it to a detailer and have them find where and how to fix it your looking at $100 some places have a de ionizer which removes bad smells in the car

I had the same problem with my min van. The dealership did an AC system deoderisor. When the system sits idle in the winter months it can actually develop some mould or fungus build up and this tends to cause the foul odour. Check at your local dealership and see what the cost would be. Mine was covered under warranty.

I had a funky smell in me 2005 cavalier. Turned out there was a seam in the firewall that wasn't completely sealed from the factory. It would let water run in and soak in the carpet and padding, leaving a foul smell. The dealer fixed it under warranty and I haven't had any problem since.
